Used Krupp goes for big bucks at Ritchie Bros. auction
04 March 2008
Ritchie Bros. finished the year with a cash infusion, selling more than 2,700 trucks and other construction equipment at an auction in Fort Worth, TX in early December. The auction, which grossed $26 million, featured the sale of a 1992 Krupp 190-ton all- terrain crane for $480,000 to an internet bidder from Saudi Arabia.
“Overall, it was a strong sale, with very good returns on transportation equipment,” said David Hobbs, Ritchie Bros. division manager. “The crane was consigned late, but we advertised it on our web site and through a direct e-mail campaign to our customers, and the results demonstrate that our marketing efforts were successful.”
