At the 2010 Expomina mining exhibition in Lima, Peru, Liebherr said it sold a crane off the stand on the first day and sold other cranes during the show.

While primarily aimed at promoting the sale of large loading, conveying, and transporting equipment for mining, Liebherr also showed a 70 tonne capacity LTM 1070-4.1 telescopic boom all terrain wheeled mobile crane. The unit on display was a used crane which had been overhauled by Liebherr at its manufacturing plant in Ehingen, Germany.

Among the other cranes sold was a 250 tonne capacity LTM 1250-6.1 wheeled mobile telescopic crane.

There was a positive feeling about the financial and economic situation in Peru at Expomina, according to Liebherr, which made a major contribution towards the increased investments in the mining sector. It benefits the mining companies and the private crane rental sector, leading to increased demand for new mobile cranes and relatively new used equipment, Liebherr said.
