Klema Kranverleih first Grove GSK55 success

Germany-based crane rental company Klema Kranverleih has enjoyed success with its new Grove GSK55, since purchasing the new machine in early 2012, says the company.

The 55 tonne capacity GSK55 combines the upperworks of a Grove GMK3055 all terrain crane with a truck chassis, which allows it to travel as a truck trailer. Weighing less than 40 tonnes, the crane can travel on German roads without the special permit required for other cranes in this capacity class. It is also exempt from extra taxes and road fees.

According to Wolfgang Klenner, managing director of Klema Kranverleih, the GSK55 is proving to be a popular alternative to mobile self-erecting cranes.

"We're sending the crane to projects where customers are looking at mobile self erecting cranes as an alternative. We can transport the GSK55 to the project as easily as a mobile self erecting crane, but can offer more lift capacity with the all terrain upperworks," Klenner said.

Founded in 1967, Klema Kranverleih specializes in lifting and transport logistics throughout Bavaria. Its fleet includes more than 30 truck-mounted cranes as well as a variety of forklifts, aerial work platforms and heavy trucks.
