Davenport Transport joins Lone Star Transportation

Lone Star Transportation LLC, a Daseke company, has announced that Davenport Transport & Rigging has joined the Lone Star Transportation team. Terms were not announced.

According to Tex Robbins, President and CEO of Lone Star, Davenport Transport is one of the premier super-heavy transport carriers in the nation. The principals, David and Donnie Davenport, have more than 80 years of combined experience in the industry, beginning with Dave Davenport & Sons Trucking Co., which was started by their father in 1971.

“The experience and professionalism of the Davenport organization is second to none,” said Robbins. “We’ve had a great working relationship with Davenport Transport for a long time, and it just made sense to combine forces and expand our joint capabilities.”

The Davenport team will continue to operate the super-heavy transport group from its current facility in Angleton, Texas, with the added capacity and support of the Lone Star team.

“We are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us under Lone Star,” said Donnie Davenport. “The personnel, location and phone numbers will remain the same, as well as the level of service our customers have been accustomed to receiving over the past 40-plus years.”
