Enerpac shows off new trolley system

Skidding systems are an important element in many heavy lift projects. Enerpac’s electrically-driven ETR125 integrated trolley system recently made fast moving three wind energy components across the deck of a ship. Visitors can see the attributes of the new ETR125 in person at Bauma 2019.

Enerpac’s ETR1250 trolley system can be synchronized to a single integrated Intellilift wireless control unit.

The Enerpac trolley solution is a faster and more capable alternative to traditional skidding systems, offering faster travel speeds, digital synchronization and improved load stability, Enerpac said. It comprises electrically-driven trolleys that can carry heavy loads along a fixed rail system.

Compared with skidding systems, the trolley offers continuous movement allowing for significantly faster travel, Enerpac said.

As noted above, the Enerpac ETR1250 trolley system was recently deployed on a jack-up vessel for a recent GeoSea Geotechnical & Offshore Solutions project. This involved the movement of 500-ton offshore wind monopile transition pieces some 90 meters across the ship’s deck to within range of the on-board crane for offshore installation.
