It's been a quick three “ years since the 2005 ConExpo-Con/Agg, which many in the industry believe marked the start of a huge explosion in the demand worldwide for cranes and transport equipment, machines, vehicles and accessories.
ConExpo-Con/Agg is shaping up to be a huge event with registration numbers up by close to 50 percent, according to the exhibition's planners. The largest show of any industry in 2008 in the US, and perhaps the world, the exhibition will feature 2,293 million square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibition space, some 22% more than was dedicated in 2005. It is estimated that 17 billion pounds of equipment and exhibition materials will be on site during the show's five day run.
Of special note, AEM is hosting financial analysts at the show in a special Industry Investor Conference designed to help exhibitors and the entire industry gain exposure to the | important Wall Street audience. Sponsors are JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs Group and Citigroup Investment Research. AEM is hosting global technical and statistics meetings in conjunction with ConExpo-CON/AGG to help companies deal with worldwide technical trade barriers and to provide quality international market data for the US, European Union countries, Japan and Pacific Rim countries. The events are the Joint Technical Liaison Committee (JTLM), the International Crane Technical Liaison Committee and the Intercontinental Statistical Committee.
