Ritchie Bros Auctioneers saw more than US$ 176 million of equipment move off the sales floor at its recent six-day auction in Orlando, Florida.

The largest heavy equipment auction for 2013 so far, the Orlando sale saw 9,400 heavy equipment items sold by 780 sellers, including a 2012 Grove RT890 90-ton 4x4x4 rough terrain crane that sold for US$725,000.

The six-day auction set a new company record for online sales as online buyers generated more than US$53 million, or 31% of total gross auction proceeds.

The unreserved public auction attracted 8,300 bidders from 80 countries, with more than US$ 58 million (or 33%) worth of equipment sold to buyers outside the US.

Ritchie Bros will conduct more than 115 auctions in the coming year.
