The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) announced the winners of the Fleet Safety, Zero Accident and Fleet Safety Improvementawards during its 2014 Annual Conference, April 22-26, at the Boca Raton Resort, Boca Raton, Florida, USA. The contests are part of SC&RA’s ongoing effort to recognize motor carrier members that exemplify a commitment to safe driving.

To qualify for the awards, companies must have an exemplary record with regard to “recordable accidents” (as defined in 49 CFR 390.5 and appendix B to part 385 – II B) are accidents involving a commercial motor vehicle operating on a public road in interstate or intrastate commerce which results in a fatality; bodily injury to a person who, as a result of the injury, immediately receives medical treatment away from the scene of the accident; one or more motor vehicles incurring disabling damage as a result of the accident requiring the motor vehicle to be transported away from the scene by a tow truck or other motor vehicle. Property damage incidents incurred that exceed $10,000 (US) shall, for the purpose of this contest, be considered a recordable accident.
