44 ton Hitachi Sumitomo

New from Hitachi Sumitomo is the 40 tonne (44 ton) capacity SCX400T telescopic boom crawler crane. As a product of Hitachi Sumitomo's cooperation agreement with Link-Belt the 32 m (105 feet) maximum, 10.06 m (33 feet minimum), four section boom is sourced from a crane in the latter's rough terrain series. Preliminary lifting charts show the maximum 40 tonnes at 2.5 m (8 feet) radius and 1.2 tonnes at 27 m (89 feet) radius with the boom fully extended.

The specification of the SCX400T also includes; a Wylie Total Moment Limiter with data logger, six cylinder Isuzu BB-6HK1TQA diesel, joystick controls, air conditioned cab, and a retractable undercarriage giving a minimum transport width of 3,350 mm (11 feet). Counterweight is four removable pieces totalling 11.5 tonnes (12.7 tons).
