BLP Atomic buyout

By Euan Youdale20 October 2011

Bishop Lifting Products Inc., (BLP) has acquired sling fabricator and marine supply company Atomic Industrial Marine and Supply, based in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

Jeff Bishop, president and COO of Bishop Lifting Products, said, "BLP has been in a growth phase for some time now and this expansion into New Orleans is required to meet the growing demands of our current customers along the Gulf of Mexico."

The 20,000 square foot facility stocks domestic and imported rigging hardware, wire rope, chain and marine supplies. Synthetic webs and roundslings are fabricated at the site, along with wire rope and alloy chain slings. Proof testing up to 200 tonnes will also be carried out there.

Following the buyout, Atomic Industrial Marine and Supply will change its name to Bishop Lifting Products, Inc., and will become BLP's seventh branch, and the fourth along the Gulf Coast.
