Faymonville’s new quadruple extending Telemax trailer

European manufacturer of trailers and semi-trailers for the special transport industry Faymonville has launched a new Telemax trailer with four extensions capable of transporting loads of up to 80 metres.

Often used to transport wind turbine rotor blades, the Telemax trailer has needed to grow longer to keep up with the increased length of the blades.

Wind farms are often in hard to reach areas of high ground so the challenge has also been to provide a long vehicle that can traverse difficult access roads.

The Faymonville solution has been to introduce pendular axles, offering more stroke (600 mm) and a greater steering angle of up to 60 degrees. These changes have increased the rear ground clearance of the vehicle and made it easier to steer.

The new Telemax is offered with either a rigid or a hydraulically controlled front section. The quadruple extending bed trailer takes the transport length up to 65 m, while retracted the trailer lies at 22 m.

Rear slide-out extendable platforms make it possible to transport rotor blades up to 80 m long.

“With the slide-out rear extension, we create on the last extendable part of the Telemax a significantly greater flexibility for the placement of the rotor blade and to counter technical traffic and geographic constraints,” explained Arnold Luxen, Faymonville sales director.
