Despite a soggy start and occasional downpours, ICUEE 2015, the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition, set a show record as the largest ever. More than 18,000 registered attendees visited the show, surpassing the last ICUEE by 13 percent, according to show owner and producer AEM.

Registrants came from all 50 states, nine of the 10 Canadian provinces and more than 60 other countries worldwide.

Telescopic crawlers from Grove (the new GHC75 and GHC55) and Tadano Mantis (the GTC 1200 and the GTC 6010) were popular exhibits as were the many boom truck models at the show, many of them new models from their OEMS.

With equipment in three areas, Altec had more than 45 machines on display, including its AC40-152S truck mounted crane that features an aerial and crane mode of operation.

Among other models, Elliott showcased its new track vehicle-mounted boom truck, the 34142 that features a 34-ton capacity and 142 feet of main boom.

On show for Manitex was the newest crane in its TC line, the TC400/450. The five-section boom has a retracted length of 34 feet, and extended length of 142 feet and a max tip height of 148 feet 10 inches. When equipped with the optional 2-piece 30’-55’ jib the machine can achieve up to 207 feet maximum tip height.

Terex brought out its Terex Crossover 8000, its 80-ton capacity boom truck that blends truck crane and boom truck designs.

The 2015 show set records for exhibit space and number of exhibitors. More than 950 exhibitors, including more than 250 companies new to the show, took more than 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space to showcase their latest equipment and product innovations, and conduct numerous live demonstrations and hands-on opportunities.

“This is our most comprehensive ICUEE ever, and there has been tremendous enthusiasm and interaction among attendees and exhibitors from Day One, when the official Kentucky Derby bugler opened the show,” said Show Director Sara Truesdale Mooney.

“Attendees are finding more companies, product innovations and product demos – plus quality networking with industry experts and peers that really increases the value of the show,” said Mooney.

ICUEE is also known as The Demo Expo and is the largest event for the utility industry. The show brings together industry professionals to gain comprehensive insights into the latest technologies, innovations and trends affecting their industry.
