Live from Link-Belt

The 2018 Link-Belt CraneFest event invitation was appropriately labeled with, “Ask anyone that has attended CraneFest and they will tell you Link-Belt knows how to throw a party!” It’s safe to say that statement rang true as attendees were brought together for bourbon, bluegrass and a copious amount of exciting machinery. The evening before the CraneFest event was one to remember, as attendees were treated to dinner, drinks and plenty of time to mix and mingle.

To kick off the day’s festivities on October 2, a cold chill-inducing video memoir took attendees back in time to the creation of Link-Belt in a field in Iowa in 1874. Evolving from the black and white videography of the late 1800s, viewers were taken on a blast from the past as Link-Belt grew before their very eyes. Fast forward to 2018, Link-Belt is a market leader, producing a robust line of equipment and has become a familiar name worldwide.

Cranes on parade

After an in-depth plant tour, attendees were treated to a variety of crane demonstrations as new machines were paraded through the yard. The star of the show was the new 175|AT all-terrain crane that was unveiled at the event. Designed with a philosophy of continuous improvement, the five-axle 175|AT is Link-Belt’s most versatile and compact AT yet, the company said.
