Morrow Equipment USA plans to add 30 new hoists to its already large fleet of tower cranes and hoists. Morrow recently ordered 10 Alimak Hek Scando 650 FC-S dual hoist systems and 20 new single car Scando 650 units.

According to the company, this was one of the first big orders for the new Alimak high-speed hoist following the introduction at Bauma 2007. Each hoist car has a capacity of 1,409 pounds and a car length of 12.79 feet. The Alimak Scando 650 FC-S features a speed capacity of up to 100 meters per minute; it needs no counterweight and can use the entire line of modules and additions available for the Scando family of equipment.

Morrow Equipment, one of the largest tower-crane rental companies in North America, first introduced Alimak Scando hoists to its fleet in 2005. The Morrow Fleet today contains some 200 Alimak hoists.

Alimak Hek's new remote control system, A3, is also included in the latest deal with Morrow Equipment. A3 is an online system for remote control of vertical access equipment, collecting operational information and data, such as time and number of starts and stops, hours in operation, etc.
