New barcode rental software from Fleet Cost & Care

11 August 2009

Fleet Cost & Care has released a Windows Mobile-based barcode software system, NexGen Atom, for the rental industry. The system integrates unit, component and accessory tracking by scanning a barcode, like products in a grocery store, and puts the data into its parent software, NexGen FMS which is an operations-oriented fleet management system.

"Our customers are frequently looking to mobile technology to aid in the refinement of data collection used to track costs and ultimately affect their bottom line," said Jeff Curran, Fleet Cost & Care president. "NexGen Atom provides an accurate method of collecting this information the yard and in the field."

The barcode system syncs with the fleet management software and eliminates the loss of equipment and assets, the company says. Parts managers can receive and track inventory easily and specify which products are on which jobs.
