Leading heavy transport and lifting professional Marco van Daal will host a one day, expert interactive seminar on 31 October in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It will be the day after the 2013 World Crane and Transport Summit (WCTS) and held at the same venue – Hotel Krasnapolsky.

In addition to studying the latest industry developments and technologies, van Daal will cover the basic ground rules (the laws of nature) as well as complex projects, including load outs and multiple crane lifts. The seminar is designed to offer practical tools helping attendees develop skills to increase the safety and efficiency of lifting and transport operations.

Also included in the post-WCTS seminar will be basic and advanced rigging, jacking and skidding, gantries, tailing devices, load outs and, last but not least, accidents and how to avoid them.

The seminar is aimed at all who have an interest in making the industry as safe and professional as possible – and not just in heavy transport and crane companies. “Proper training, communication and clear explanation is proven to help reduce accidents in the industry. My seminars help the multiple disciplines of engineering, sales and operations to better understand each other,” van Daal explained.

Van Daal has been conducting training seminars around the world since 2006. “My passion for sharing knowledge and experience is the primary reason for holding them,” van Daal commented. He has been in the heavy lift and transport industry since 1993, starting at Mammoet Transport from the Netherlands and later with Fagioli PSC from Italy. His 20 years of experience was gained on five continents in more than 55 countries. Van Daal is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and is an engineer by trade.

Van Daal will also be a speaker at the WCTS event being held on 29 and 30 October. His presentation will be Transportation accidents, common causes and prevention at the event organised by International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine and its publisher KHL’s event division.
