Yoshihiro Tanno (left) has been a p p o i n t e d president and CEO of Japanese crane manufacturer Kobelco Cranes Co. Ltd. Tanno, who takes up the position in early June and was previously a senior managing director at Kobelco Cranes’ parent company Kobe Steel, will spend the month of May working as an advisor at his new company. Tanno joined Kobe Steel in 1967 and was promoted to the company's management in 1990 and became a director in 1996.

Whiting Corporation has appointed John Cunningham as sales manager–heavy rail equipment, for railroads, railcar and locomotive builders, repair shops, private car operators, and engineering firms in the US. He takes responsibility for sales, installation and technical services on the company's range of car and body hoists, body supports, truck repair hoists, transfer tables, turntables, portable electric jacks, drop tables and car progression systems.

Brian Peretin has been appointed sales manager for Potain tower cranes in North America. Brian will be responsible for the sales management for both the GMA (self–erecting) and GME (top slewing) lines. Brian began working with cranes in June 1993 at Krupp Cranes North America in various roles, including parts and sales.

Also for Potain, Steve Johnson, has been appointed regional business manager for GME tower cranes for the Eastern United States and Eastern Canada. Steve has worked in the tower crane industry for more than 12 years in the eastern portion of the country and will report to Brian Peretin.
