Florida-based crane rental firm Barcelona Equipment Inc recently took delivery of a new Tadano ATF 400G-6 all-terrain crane from Tadano America, with the new unit put out to work within days of arrival at the rental firm’s depot in Clearwater.

Barcelona’s customer, Hammer Haag Steel needed the crane to load equipment on a barge that was heading to Louisiana. This was a very complex project, which utilized over 90 percent of the cranes’ capacity. The lift was 171,000 pounds at a 46-foot radius. The crane was equipped with maximum counterweights and the total weight of the load was 350,000 lbs.

After performing the lift for Hammer Haag Steel, the Tadano crane returned to the Barcelona yard, where Tadano service technicians provided a two-week training program for the Barcelona team.

According to Bob Steiner, president, Barcelona Equipment, the firm plans to offer this crane for HVAC placement, infrastructure projects, power industries, water treatment plants, commercial construction and any project that requires a versatile crane with such efficient lift capacity.

The ATF 400G-6 is the first Tadano crane to join the Barcelona fleet, but more could soon be added.

“Barcelona Equipment would definitely consider adding more Tadano products in the future. The equipment is top of the line and the service is impeccable,” Steiner said.

Exact Crane & Equipment was the dealer in the transaction between Tadano America and Barcelona Equipment.
