Bigge builds 'perfect fleet' at Bauma

Bigge Crane and Rigging has made a big impact at Bauma 2019, inking orders for a variety of cranes and participating in handovers at Kobelco, Liebherr, Link-Belt and Manitowoc Potain.

The deals included a variety of classes of crawler and tower cranes that will be added to what Bigge terms its “perfect fleet.”

Liebherr handed over the keys for 16 crawler cranes including 15 LR 1300 and one LR 1800. Bigge also placed orders for two LR 11000 units. Based in San Leandro, CA and with branches located throughout the United States, Bigge has more than 100 Liebherr models in its fleet.

Bigge has had a long-time relationship with Kobelco, and the company celebrated that relationship with an order for 19 additional Kobelco crawler cranes.

“The headline here is 19 cranes in 2019,” said Jack Fendrick, vice president and chief operating officer of Kobelco. “Today we are here to celebrate Kobelco and Bigge Crane’s relationship. The relationship is based on a mutual trust between two companies that are dedicated to providing the highest quality of product, service and support.”

Bigge President Weston Settlemier is leading Bigge into its second century, Fendrick noted.

“Weston and his brother Reid are the third generation of a crane family that takes pride in establishing relationships with customers, suppliers and employees that are built on respect and trust,” Fendrick said.

At Link-Belt, Bigge participated in a handover of Link-Belt TCC-2500 telescopic crawler cranes.

The Bigge team said that this multifaceted, 250 ton machine will be useful in a variety of industries and will add to their already versatile fleet.

At the Manitowoc stand, Bigge’s team was on hand to celebrate the purchase of additional Potain MDT219 city class cranes for its rental fleet in North America.

“Our recent Potain purchase is proof of our great success and relationship with [Manitowoc,]” said Jesse Sullivan, Bigge tower crane and hoist manager. “The MDT219 J10 has been received well in the market place and demand has risen, particularly in mixed use residential, and inner-city infill projects. This tower crane forms part of our Perfect Fleet and is currently available for rent in the United States.
