The 550 US ton (500 tonne) capacity model 548 crawler from Link-Belt was launched at ConExpo in March 2008

Columbus, Ohio, US-based Columbus Equipment Company has been appointed as a Link-Belt crane distributor. Columbus Equipment will cover all counties in Ohio and some in northern Kentucky (Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties) and southeastern Indiana (Ohio, Dearborn, and Switzerland counties).

Founded by Bill Early in 1952, the distributorship is still based at its original Columbus location. In addition to the Columbus headquarters, customers will be served from branches in Cadiz, Cambridge, Canton, Cincinnati, Dayton, Jackson, Painesville, Richfield, and Toledo, Ohio.

"Columbus Equipment brings to the table decades of crane market experience," said Brax Snyder, manager of worldwide sales at Link-Belt.

Link-Belt Construction Equipment Company, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, US manufactures telescopic and lattice boom cranes.
