Texas-based Contractors Crane Company has taken delivery of the first new Badger CD4415 15-ton (13.6-tonne) rough terrain crane.

The authorized dealer of Badger Equipment took delivery of the crane in early January 2013.

Introduced in October 2012, the Badger CD4415 cab-down unit stands just 11ft (3.3 m) tall and has been designed to work in small spaces.

Contractors Crane was involved in the unit’s concept, as president and CEO Mike Daniels explained: "We invited Badger to visit our largest customers in Texas and Louisiana to learn what users wanted from a new crane. The CD4415 design was based largely on those operator specifications and, as a result, we expect this to be a very good line."

Contractors Crane initially ordered three of the new 15-ton (13.6-tonne) cranes and expects to place additional orders once the company begins to demonstrate the CD4415 to its customers.

The new crane features four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, multiple boom configurations, a highly visible, ergonomically engineered two-door cab with joystick controls, and integrated safety features, such as steps and handrails.

The new 15-ton (13.6-tonne) crane will go to market as both the Badger CD4415 and the Manitex M150.
