Sims Crane, Florida’s premier crane and equipment provider, has appointed David Wessin as South Florida safety director. Wessin, a 30-year corporate safety veteran, brings extensive experience in corporate safety, risk management and program management to the Sims team.

Wessin will be responsible for overseeing project safety for Sims Crane’s South Florida branches located in West Palm Beach, Miami and Fort Myers.

“As Sims continues to grow and add new projects to our portfolio, we are expanding our safety department and David is a great addition to the team,” said Dean Sims II, Sims Crane Vice President of Marketing.

Before joining Sims Crane, Wessin served as Vice President Safety & Loss Control for Coastal Construction Group in Miami. Prior to that, he held the position of Corporate Safety Director for Coscan Construction Group in Fort Lauderdale. Previously, he was Director of Safety for Tudor-Perini Building Corp of Fort Lauderdale.

Wessin serves on the Safety and Health Committee of the National Associated General Contractors of America and is the Founder/Chairman of the Safety Alliance for Excellence, which is a resource for safety and risk professionals to discuss industry issues.

“I was first introduced to Sims Crane more than 15 years ago and have witnessed firsthand their exceptional customer service and commitment to safety,” Wessin said. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such an outstanding organization.”
