The dome is made from impact resistant polycarbonate and provides added camera protection during high cycle, repetitive lifting, as is common in concrete construction, said Netarus.

According to Netarus, the armoured dome is popular with concrete contractors because it facilitates productive concrete pours by tower cranes by providing the crane operator with a view of activity below the hook.

The HC180 has a magnetic mounting system, a rechargeable battery (with a run time of 8 to 24 hours), and a wirelesss transmitter. Video is displayed in the cab on a 9.7 inch. display with heavy-duty RAM suction cup mount. Optional remote monitoring and recording is possible with Netarus’s HoistCam Director, which it said enables construction managers to view and manage the job site remotely. Information about current real-time job progression improves communication with other contractors and work flow and HoistCam Director is useful for risk management and accident investigation, claimed Netarus. HoistCam Director transfers video and images to a mobile digital video recorder (MDVR), which captures and stores data from up to eight HoistCam cameras. The MDVR can be configured to automatically upload to the cloud for analysis or archive.

“Several concrete contractors who are already using the HC180 told us that they once they started using the camera it was difficult for them to go back to working without it,” said Netarus sales manager Maxine Aromin. “They cited increased confidence and productivity for operators, while managers like the ability to keep an eye on the jobsite with the HoistCam Director feature.”
