Turnover of the Liebherr Group of Companies rose by 15.7 % or € 1.018 billion (US$1.578 billion) to € 7.491 billion ($11.609 billion) in 2007 compared with the previous year.

Increases were recorded in all product divisions and in almost all sales regions. In the mobile cranes division, turnover rose by 18.4 % or € 252.6 million ($391.4 million) to € 1.626 billion ($2.5 billion).

Strongest growth was in the construction tower cranes and concrete mixing technology division where turnover was up 28.4 %, or € 201.6 million ($312.4 million), to € 910.8 million ($1.41 billion). It was the third successive year with growth above 25 %. The maritime cranes division also posted strong growth. Turnover rose 27.4 % or € 116.0 million ($179.7 million) to € 538.6 million ($834.4 million).

The Group invested € 545.9 million ($845.6 million) in 2007, up from € 409.6 million ($634.5 million) in 2006, on areas that included factory extensions and renewal and further development of the international sales and service network. At the end of 2007 the Liebherr Group workforce was 29,660 worldwide, up 12.6 % or 3,323 on the end of 2006.

Liebherr forecasts a rise in turnover for 2008 in the mobile cranes division (Liebherr-Werk Ehingen) to more than € 1.7 billion ($2.6 billion) and a rise of around 10 % for the Group.
