Giuffre Bros. loans boom trucks to American Cancer Society event

07 March 2008

Giuffre Bros. Cranes in Milwaukee joined radio station WKTI and the American Cancer Society in the first “Bras for a Cause” event in October 2007, which was Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the United States.

Women in the greater Milwaukee area were invited to donate a new or slightly used bra at any of 10 participating businesses. The bras were hooked together to form streamers that were strung on a clothesline between two Giuffre Bros. boom trucks in the parking lot of the Pettit Ice Arena near downtown Milwaukee. Following the attention-getting display, a local dry-cleaner laundered the bras to prepare them for distribution to women's shelters throughout the Milwaukee area.

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will develop some form of breast cancer in her lifetime, and breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in women.

Giuffre Bros. also has sales and rental operations in Chicago, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Palm Beach.
