Grove GMK 4115 debuts in iron

24 April 2008

The new 110 ton capacity Grove GMK4115 (GMK4100 outside the US) all terrain on four axles was shown in iron for the first time at a Manitowoc Crane Group customer event late September. Announced at the Intermat show in Paris earlier this year, the GMK4115 was unveiled to visitors at Grove's Wilhemshaven factory in Germany.

It is the first in the Grove all terrain range with the new carrier cab based on the design of a commercial truck cab that will also be fitted to other all terrain models. The carrier is 42 feet long and 9 feet wide. It was shown in a taxi version (pictured in blue) with minimum counterweight and no jib, and in a maxi configuration (pictured in red) with Maxi counterweight, jib and accessories. Maximum hook height is 262 feet and the maximum radius is 203 feet with jib. Full counterweight is 28 tons.

Introducing the crane at the launch, Philippe Cohet, Manitowoc Crane Group EVP Europe, Middle East and Africa, described it as the sign of things to come.
