Grove RTs helping build Saudi Arabian energy plants

Middle East: Grove rough terrain cranes are being used to help build petrochemical and other hydrocarbon facilities for energy companies that include Saudi Aramco and Chevron.

Consolidated Contractors International Co. (CCIC) has dispatched its fleet of Grove RTs to various job sites. The company's fleet ranges from the 22 ton Grove RT522 up to the 100 ton Grove RT9100. Grove dealer Kanoo Machinery sold all of the cranes to CCIC, which has 175 cranes in its fleet, 100 of which are Grove rough-terrains.

The machines have primarily lifted and placed structural steel for the construction of hydrocarbon facilities. Job sites include Saudi Aramco's Haradh Gas Processing facilities in the south of Saudi Arabia; a Chevron project in Jubail; the Khursaniyah Gas Plant and producing facilities in Saudi's Eastern Province; and the Rabiq Olefins Plant Projects in the west of the country. The construction projects will finish in March 2008, at a total cost of nearly $2 billion.
