Hirschmann Mentor on Madal Palfinger BR 400

Brazil-based crane manufacturer Madal Pal? nger's new telescopic truck crane BR 400 (same as the Sennebogen HPC 40) will use the Hirschmann Mentor load moment indicator. The crane has a capacity of up to 40 tons (44 US tons) and a boom lengthof 37.5 meters (123 feet). The BR 400 complements Pal? nger's existing truck crane line that includes the MD 300 and MD 600.

The first Hirschmann Mentor was installed on a BR 400 telescopic crane, and since then, all those cranes in that model line have been ? tted with the Mentor. The load moment indicator Mentor offers strong crane operation at an ideal cost bene? t ratio, according to Palfinger. The Mentor provides the operator with a continuous display of the crane's actual and allowable load, boom length, boom angle, and load radius. The system also includes an integrated bar graph that displays the crane's utilization. The combination of the central unit being integrated into the console and the use of maintenance free CAN-Bus sensors provides for quick and easy installation. Set up and calibration can be done through the console, which also incorporates a large backlit LCD display with automatic contrast adjustment. The Mentor also provides the option of Working Area De? nition (WADS), event recorder, and the use of wireless sensors.
