Liebherr to launch 330 ton crawler

15 April 2008

Under development at Liebherr-Werk Nenzing in Austria is a 300 metric ton (331 US ton) capacity crawler crane. The new LR 1300 will close a gap in the product line between the LR 1280 and the LR 1350 (280 and 350 metric ton capacity, respectively). The LR 1280 is a development of a 250 metric ton model and the LR 1350 is a reduced capacity version of the LR 1400.

In basic concept the new crane is similar to the LR 1280 but it is a new design. A full package will be available, including lufling and fixed jibs, long boom, and an extra long boom con. guration, with conical intersections, for maximum reach.

The second unit built of this model will be on show at April's Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany.

Look out for more details on this new model as they become available in a future issue of ACT.
