LJ Companies expanding fleet

The LJ Companies – including LJ Crane & Rigging, LJ Heavy Hauling and LJ Specialized Logistics – has announced a significant expansion of its equipment fleet, according to Paul Fioravanti, vice president and COO.

LJ has placed large orders with Manitowoc dealer Shawmut Equipment of Manchester, CT. Equipment ordered includes: O Grove models

TMS760E, TMS800E, GMK4115, GMK5130, GMK5165, GMK5275, GMK7550

Manitowoc models 10000, 12000, 14000, Model 999 with luffer and 2250 Series III Maxer Prep with luffer.

Additionally, LJ plans to expand its Potain tower crane fleet with the addition of Potain models MD485 hammerhead and MR605B and MR615B “luffing” tower cranes.

The addition of multiple cranes will make LJ's fleet among the youngest and most diverse in North America, Fioravanti said.

The additional commitment to Potain luffing tower cranes will bring LJ's Potain fleet to more than 20 tower cranes, and more than 60 cranes overall, Fioravanti said.

LJ Companies has grown nearly 500% over the last three years, and has been listed on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies in 2006 and 2007.

In addition, LJ has been recognized by Providence Business News as one of the fastest growing Rhode Island-based companies two years in a row.
