Mammoet orders nine Kobelco CKE2500-2 crawlers

In addition to ordering five 250 tonne capacity Kobelco CKE2500-2 crawler cranes last spring, Mammoet has ordered four additional units for use in its international operations.

The first three Kobelco units of the original order for five were delivered to Santos Port near Sao Paolo for operation in Brazil.

The first project for the cranes was in Rio Grande is the construction of a large new dry-dock facility for the off-shore industry, being constructed by Mammoet/IRGA for Petrobas.

There are already plans for a second dock to be built, reflecting the huge scale and pace of the expanding local off-shore industry in South America.

All nine of Mammoet's new Kobelco cranes are destined for civil construction, oil and energy-related projects in Brazil, the Middle East and the Far East Russian island of Sakhalin, which has one of the world's largest reserves of oil and natural gas.

The cranes are being supplied with main booms up to 91.4 m, together with 61 m luffing boom and 61 m luffing jib configurations, and they all have tilt cabs.
