Jan Kleijn, Mammoet CEO, will give the keynote address at the World Crane and Transport Summit (WCTS) in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 4 and 5 November 2015.

Kleijn is one of a number of speakers already confirmed for the event, including Alexandre-Jacques Vernazza, Mediaco president, Ton Klijn, Wagenborg Nedlift managing director, and Mathias Rehe at Dacotrans/Daco Heavy Lift in Guatemala.

The preliminary programme and booking details are at www.khl.com/wcts on this event's home page.

This year’s event will include a special focus on wind turbine operations and the recruitment of young and new people to the industry, with round-table sessions on both topics.

Norbert van Schaik at Siemens Wind Power will give a presentation on the implications of wind turbine design trends for transport and lifting of components and he will also take part in a panel discussion on the subject.

On recruitment there will be a round-table of young people in the industry who will describe their experiences and discuss how to best recruit young talent. Already confirmed for the panel is Marcus Chee, a crane specialist with Bok Seng Logistics in Singapore.

Other topics at the conference include new guidelines on the operation of self propelled modular transporter and proposals for a crane operator licence scheme for Europe.

Crane accident analysis, meanwhile, will be the topic covered by Judy Goh, senior consultant at Matcor Technology & Services, a Singapore-based company that specialises in forensic investigation of crane accidents.

Sponsors for the conference are: Silver: Liebherr, Terex, Tii (Scheuerle/Nicolas/Kamag). Supporting sponsors: Goldhofer, Modulift, TSL (Tech Safety Lines) and WireCo WorldGroup.

As in previous years the Summit has the support of many of the leading crane and transport associations around the world, including The European Association of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Cranes (ESTA), Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA), Sindipesa, The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) and Associpesa, together with many of their members.
