Manitowoc Crane Care commits to UK

24 April 2008

UK: Manitowoc Crane Care is working to ensure that its customers do not experience a disruption in service following the trading difficulties announced by UK Grove service representative Samuel Walker & Sons Ltd.

Steve Barnett, managing director sales and operations at Manitowoc Crane Group in the UK, said, “We have a duty of care to our customers, and I expect us to fulfill that duty.” He said the company has acted quickly to the situation and is confident customers will not experience any disruption of service or supply of products for their Grove cranes.

An MCG statement said Crane Care has acquired additional operational resources for Grove spare parts and service, which will be coordinated from the Sunderland MCG facility in the north east of England. These provisional arrangements form part of a larger plan, details of which the company said it will communicate to customers over the coming weeks. The new arrangement applies only to the UK servicing for Grove product previously handled by Samuel Walker. Potain and Manitowoc products will continue to receive support directly from Manitowoc Crane Care UK facilities.
