New LMI hits market

24 April 2008

Hirschmann Automation and Control has introduced the Hirschmann mentor load moment indicator (LMI) for mobile cranes. It provides the operator with a continuous display of the crane's actual and allowable load, boom length, boom angle and load radius. A combination of the central unit being integrated into the console and the use of Can Bus sensors means quick and easy installation, Hirschmann said. Set-up and calibration is done via a console that also incorporates a large backlit LCD display with automatic contrast adjustment. The Hirschmann mentor also has an optional Working Area Definition (WAD) function and uses wireless sensors. The Hirschmann mentor meets all industry standards for LMIs and is rated IP66.
