Sarens Wind Service is a new specialist service division both for onshore and offshore wind energy markets.

SWS was set up by international heavy lift and transport specialist Sarens in conjunction with a Polish partner. Its primary initial aim is to maintain wind turbines, especially their gearboxes. Sarens said its Polish partner has extensive experience in the construction and service of onshore and offshore wind turbines.

Sarens has installed wind turbines with a combined total of more than 1,000 MW of generating capacity in Europe. This new venture reinforces the end-to-end turbine lifecycle service offer available from one company.

Mariusz Sudoł, Sarens regional director of Northern and Eastern Europe, said, “Through Sarens Wind Service, we would like to provide maintenance services for wind farms in Finland and Sweden and we will continue service work in the UK, Ireland, and Germany.

“By 2025, we aim to have individual and robust departments for turbine construction, offshore building and service, and blade repair. We will also be opening a GWO academy (Global Wind Organisation approved basic safety training) to provide training related to basic technical training, sea survival, hubs, and nacelles,” Sudoł continued.
