OSHA publishes Cranes and Derricks proposed rule

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) in the US published the proposed Cranes and Derricks in Construction rule in the 9 October 2008 edition of the Federal Register. Copies of the proposed rule can be obtained at http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2008/pdf/E8-21993.pdf. All comments are due by 8 December 2008.
SC&RA is reviewing the proposed rule and will offer additional information to members in the coming weeks via its newsletter and web site www.scranet.org. SC&RA members from the original C-DAC will be working with staff over the coming weeks to evaluate the proposed rule against the direction originally established during the advisory committee process.
