After introducing its newest knuckleboom crane line at Bauma in Germany last spring, PM is launching the cranes in North America. The nine new machines targeted for this market include cranes with capacities from 16 ton meters to 23 ton meters.

The new PM range includes the PM 16 with a ratio of 109040 ft/lbs, and which has a maximum lifting capacity of 4,255 pounds at 24 feet 11 inches on the shortest version to 820 pounds at 61 feet 10 inches on the longest version available. Also new is PM 23,5 SP with a ratio of 154,210 ft/lbs which has a maximum lifting capacity of 5,955 pounds at 25 feet 3 inches on its shortest version to 1,305 pounds at 62 feet 4 inches on the longest version

The 7-extension feature available on these new models is one of the most innovative features, as well as being the longest knuckle boom crane on this ratio, the company said.

Apart the long reach, the new range is available with double linkage road system “PM LINK,” which the company says guarantees extremely constant lifting curves and top performance in every operation position.

A sister range is also available without the “PM LINK” to satisfy the customer looking for a strong crane on short reach, the company said.

The new PM crane range are also equipped of a “regenerative oil system” on the boom extension to increase the boom speed performance comparing with the previous models.

“The innovative boom pack with PM LINK is designed for heavy application on vertical reach and offer high lifting power,” said Stefano Ghesini, sales director for PM North Ameriac. “Together with the long reach and the negative angle of the boom pack, give to the operator the perfect machine for his everyday operation.”

The secondary boom on all the cranes equipped with PM LINK are designed with 15 degrees of negative angle, one of the most popular features on big knuckle cranes, now also available on a medium range, the company said.
