The GTC-500 is a collaboration between Tadano Mantis and Tadano, Ltd. resulting in a purpose-designed telescopic boom crawler crane. Integration of Tadano winches, jibs, hydraulic cylinders, AML-C and Hello Net telematics increase reliability and commonality with other Tadano models, the company said.

Designed for the  core markets of power transmission, bridge/heavy civil and foundation construction, plus lift crane markets, the GTC-500 is a collaboration between Tadano Mantis and Tadano Ltd. Integration of Tadano winches, jibs, hydraulic cylinders, AML-C and Hello Net telematics increase reliability and commonality with other Tadano models, the company said.

“The 50-ton rating is a real, usable capacity with a level ground load chart that allows for operation on slopes of up to 1.5 degrees so that the crane can be used to its full capabilities without the requirement of ground preparations to give a perfectly level lifting base,” Tadano said. ”The load charts offer full chart pick-and-carry capacity through 360°. An optional Heavy Configuration 28,200 pound counterweight package provides increased lifting performance at longer radius.”

The 4-section full power boom allows continuous telescoping with load to the maximum extended length of 113 feet 10 inches. The main boom is complemented with a 28.9 foot / 49.9 foot bi-fold jib that offsets at 5, 25, and 45 degrees. The maximum tip height with the jib erected is 170.5 feet. Load charts for jib operation allow for lifting on slopes up to 2.5 degrees.

The GTC-500 has an operating weight of 103,900 pounds, can ship in one truckload, and the unladen ground pressure is 9.3 psi (0.65 kg/cm2). The standard configuration of the crane has compact dimensions of 11 feet 5 inches wide by 42 feet 11 inches long by 12 foot 1 inch working height (with 31.5 inch wide track shoes) Optional 35.4 inch wide semi- grouser shoes and 35.4 inch wide steel-flat shoes are also available.

Tadano Mantis offers the capability for infinite symmetrical or asymmetrical track positions on telescopic boom crawler cranes.

The GTC-500 is powered by a Cummins Tier 4f, Euromot stage IV QSB6.7 diesel engine rated 260 hp @ 2,200 rpm.

Tadano’s Hello-Net telematics system monitors machine work history, position data and maintenance data.
