Tadano strengthens in Thailand

Japanese crane manufacturer Tadano has agreed a joint venture with Italthai Industrial Co., Ltd, (ITI) its distributor in Thailand, to increase sales and market share.

The company is focusing on sales of truck loader cranes and has designated Thailand as a key area for expansion. Tadano Thailand Co., Ltd., a manufacturing subsidiary of truck loader cranes, and Tadano Thai Parts and Service Co., Ltd., a sales and service company, were established in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

The latest move takes this further, the company explained, “By doing this, we plan to integrate Tadano Group manufacturing know-how with the sales know-how of ITI. Through this, we aim to respond more closely to market needs and further accelerate the sales of truck loader cranes in Thailand."

The name Tadano Thai Parts and Service Co Ltd will be changed to Tadano Italthai Co Ltd. There are nearly 500 employees and annual sales are forecast at JPY 810 million (US$ 7.3 million) in 2018. In the new joint-venture company Tadano holds 49%, ITI 48% an125541d MHCB Consulting (Thailand), the remaining 3 %.
