Houston-based TNT Crane & Rigging has acquired Rocky Mountain Structures, Inc. and its subsidiaries (“RMS”) in the USA. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

RMS, headquartered in Denver, CO, is one of the largest crane and rigging services companies in the Rocky Mountain region, serving Colorado and the surrounding states. Founded in 1977, RMS has longstanding ties to the area and a diversified customer base, making it a “natural strategic fit for TNT,” according to the company.

The acquisition expands TNT’s geographic coverage, end-market exposure and fleet composition with the addition of three Colorado branches and 66 cranes, the company said. RMS serves the manufacturing, industrial, cell tower, power, commercial and construction markets as well as other end markets throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with TNT,” said Cody Gilliland, CEO, RMS. “The company is an industry leader with a proven successful track record not only for profitable growth but also for building a culture that puts its people first. This partnership enhances our ability to grow our business and creates opportunities for our employees. The economic outlook is solid for Colorado and the end markets we serve. In addition, the combined company will benefit from opportunities in the energy sector when oil prices and drilling activities return to sustainable levels.”

Mike Appling, CEO of TNT, said RMS provides TNT further geographic expansion in the western U.S. as well as end market diversification through Colorado’s broad group of industry sectors.

“The depth and breadth of our combined capabilities and experience is a tremendous benefit to all of our customers,” said Appling. “Cody has built an impressive team and we are excited to welcome them to the TNT family.”

Kregg Lunsford, president of TNT said, “The acquisition of RMS reinforces TNT’s commitment to partnering with best-in-class operators to better serve our clients. RMS has demonstrated exceptional growth over the last several years by providing superior service and execution. There is no question their success is a direct result of our shared culture and belief that our people are our most important assets and with that we have a great responsibility to them.”
