ASC Lift Machinery launch rail transport system for cranes

26 August 2011

ASC Lift Machinery’s 200-tonne capacity railway crane is used principally for emergency response to train derailments at present, however, it can also be used for infrastructure construction projects such as bridge work. This system was jointly designed by US-based ASC Lift Machinery and partners with engineering by Germany-based Zweiweg International. This first unit was built for a large mining and steel company. Now, this patent pending system is being offered to private and public railways worldwide. The system uses two connected bogies that attach temporarily to 160 to 360 tonne capacity All Terrain Cranes (the crane in the video is a 200 tonne capacity Terex-Demag AC200). ASC says the system can be adapted for all major ATC manufacturers, including Liebherr, Terex-Demag, Grove and Tadano-Faun.
